Koiuta

The stresses and strains of finding one's self in the hustle and bustle of 1968 Tokyo. A young daycare worker from the countryside meets with an unfortunate accident while visiting her famous sister, setting off a chain of events which forever changes not only her own life but those of all around her.
Tokyo is like a deep-sea angler fish, dangling tempting, shiny bait to attract fresh food to feed its hunger....while unceremoniously spitting out the bones of those whose lives it has already chewed up.

A good read.
