This
book is unusual in that it is a collection of three stories. Uchida states in
the afterword that he prefers not to do less than full-length novels because
the work involved in traveling to the locale of the story is just the same,
and the pay is less
Despite the author's claim that he is no good at shortened works, he has turned in a quite a respectable collection in "Kagami no Onna". Each story features a mirror in some way, giving rise to the book's title. This might be a good starting place for anyone thinking they might be interested in reading some of Uchida's many books.
