"Hina No Kioku" finds our hero, Asami, travelling to Shizuoka and Akita prefectures to solve a series of murders. Refreshingly realistic in that the string of murders was the result of a set of unfortunate circumstances and not some elaborate conspiracy. Still, it requires determination and dedication to get to the bottom of the crime. This book is unusual in the Asami Mitsuhiko series in that Asami doesn't even make an appearance for the first one-third of the book.
