construction site break
Some construction workers in Tokyo take their 10 o'clock break. Japanese law in many cases mandates a 10 minute break at 10 o'clock and 3 o'clock. These breaks normally have a tendency to last something more along the lines of 20 to 30 minutes. And then there is the normal unofficial 30 minute break at 5 o'clock prior to doing any overtime, even in the work to be done during the overtime would take even less time than that to accomplish.
You may have heard that Japanese work longer and harder than Americans. Many in the know will tell you Japanese merely spend more time and use more people to accomplish the same task.
